I have a server with 2 ip addresses and 5 sites provisioned under Aegir. One of the sites is running with an SSL certificate.
I wanted to add another SSL certificate for one of the other 4 sites. I added a 3rd IP address to the server, rebooted, and all of my HTTP sites were not accessible. The HTTPS portion of the one site was still available, however.
Once I removed the new IP address and rebooted the server, all was well.
Admittedly I am new to Aegir as I inherited this from another developer. However, the addition of a new IP address to the server should not bring down all HTTP traffic on that server. With that said, what is the best practice to bring on another secure site? Should I follow the directions here: http://community.aegirproject.org/node/29 , add the new IP to the server and the restart?
I'd love to try this out in a development environment first, but I don't have that luxury so a best practice would be nice to know.
Thanks!
Mike

griz commentedI'm facing exactly the same problem. The single html page at my FQDN was the only thing (I think) left accessible. Everything else (all my sites are on aegir) stopped working.
Help!

steven jones commentedDid you get anywhere with diagnosing what was going on here, I've successfully added multiple IPs to servers over the years, and never seen anything like this.

ergonlogicThe 1.x branch of Aegir is deprecated. Please re-open if you can re-produce this issue on the latest 2.x or later branches.
