I recently installed the module and signed up with www.text-link-ads.com Until I get my first paid listing nothing shows up on my site(I have a title of ). Unfortunately this means that people(potential sponsors) visiting my site don't know that they could buy a link at www.text-link-ads.com One thing that could help is having a basic affiliate link (ex. Text Link Ads ) show up till my first paid link is sold. This would show potential sponsors that I am part of the network and that they could buy a link(and also show where it would be on the page). The ad could be selected from a predefined list, or a field could be created on the admin page allowing the user to enter the complete Affiliate link of their choice.
BTW, you also might want to consider using your own Affiliate link on the modules project page. That way us first timers could use your link to sign-up and maybe get you a bit of extra cash. :-)

Yeah, that seems like a reasonable feature.
Just to be clear:
1) This should be optional
2) It is probably best implemented by allowing the user to select any block that should show until the tla ads have a value.
The reason I say #2 is that the options for affiliate ads are so broad that I think the easiest way to support them all is to just use a regular block and let people paste the code into that space. This also allows the admin to use something else instead of the TLA affiliate until the first ad shows up.
What do you think about that plan?

Thanks greggles, Both options sound good to me.
1 - Definitely optional. The site owner should always have control of what goes on their site.
2 - Sounds good. Especially with all the possible items to display.
