How to predefine the node to link to

I have projects an documents, they are linked using entityreferences.
Now I create a view to show all documents linked to a project. in this view I would like to have a link/button to add new documents. This function should open an edit-form with a predefined project, the user should not need to select the project itself.
Can this be done using entityreferences?
