hi can any one let me know if it is possible in drupal to let anonymous users blog on your website without having to register or login

Try admin >> access control >> edit own blog for anonymous users

I tried that and didn't work. Once I tried creating a new content type with the same format and worked!

How will you know whose blog entry it is that you're looking at?

I guess you should customize it to having the same behaviour as if it were a blog entry. Blog module is not too complicate to imitate, besides we are trying to have a blog for anonymous users so we don't need a multi-blog.
