To reproduce, follow these steps:

1. Fill in an existing email in "account information" email.
2. Change the email to something else once the password field appears
3. Click on the submit button without first unfocusing the email address field

I've reproduced this in firefox and chrome. Possibly this is a bug in core ajax. Anyone know if there is an issue for this?

It seems to be caused by the page reloading while the ajax request is still waiting to complete.

afaik this is a core issue, you can get such issues to if you for example hit save on a view while the "ajax dot image" is still there or on an autocomplete while the blue circle is still "circling"

I have just released 2.0-beta1 which is almost a full rewrite of the module and no longer uses ajax. This issue is therefore obsolete.
