I would like to have the setting and ability to not use the two address fields and instead just use the country, city, state, and zip code.
This would be for defining points between to cities or metro areas for routes such as used in trucking.

I need this as well. Basically I just need the city center, no address.

adam_b commentedThis could be related to the discussion in #1337656: Use only one address field, where it's been suggested to have the option to hide certain fields.

klonosI think we should close this (and #1337656: Use only one address field for that matter) in favor of #1010314: Separate Components of Address field

wjaspers commentedWouldn't this change break the xNAL standard?

klonosThe goal in #1010314: Separate Components of Address field is to provide different visibility settings for each address_field (sub)field in both the node edit form and on display. Not showing a field in the edit for or in display doesn't mean that it will break the standard. As a matter of fact, the db storage functionality won't be touched at all. If you think about it, even as it is now one can leave the address field blank - the standard is not broken.

wjaspers commentedOh, sweet. I simply misunderstood this request.
