I'm trying to use this with a views slideshow at the top of the page, but it will only display the page with views slideshow and nothing else. Tried with slideshow as a page and as a block on a separate page. Actually doesn't seem to be working with views in any formatting.

I am having the same issue with views slideshow, although I can see the pager changing.
Additionally the controls (previous pause next) have a href="#" so the single_page scroll to the top
Views in other formats work fine in my case.
