I just watched somebody navigating the schedule and they completely missed the tabs at the top of the page and thought the session list for Tuesday was the entire list.. I think one way to help with this is to add the "day tabs" to the bottom of the page as well.

This sounds very reasonable to me. We want to do usability testing on the schedule as part of #1353998: Usability test site and schedule but I suspect this is a straight-forward enhancement.

The tabs are Views menu tabs. Could either make custom block for invoking and rendering or hard-code list in the View footer?

That would probably help, but it's more likely to be a weighting thing, i.e. the tabs aren't visually strong enough to catch your attention. Increasing the font size for the tabs on this View would help I think. I'll demo on test-denver and check Ken is happy too.
