Translation module is missing the German language option.

No, option for German language presents in the list. See array in the function translation_get_iso639_list().

It might be in the ISO list, however, it is not available when the module is installed ...

When you select the Node Language pop up list/menu ... there is no German language option available.

This is with the 4.5 CVS version ...

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need a real world/live demonstration of this bug.

Now languages list takes from locale.inc function _locale_prepare_iso_list(). If German or another language not presented in the list - please direct bugreports to Drupal core.
