I am trying to install and configure the module but it does not generate the sitemap. A directory is created within the site files but there is no .xml file to be found. When I try to access domain.co.uk/sitemap.xml it states page not found.

i can not confirm that with the newest version. everything works fine. check it on a clean install. maybe another contrib makes trouble.
reopen with more infos if still present
