In attempting to "add Menu" or "add Menu Item" under .../?q=admin/menu, it will always state it's OK with "Updated menu item..." etc after trying to add new menu items.
Have tried to enable Taxonomy_Menu or disable Taxonomy_Menu to see if this will make a difference.
Manipulating this component of Drupal 4.5 is not working since full install of this newest version of Drupal.

Fixed here ... sorry that I missed this post when I submitted the patch, but it was the events.module that was causing the problem.

Event module was only part of the problem, did eventually have to do a clean install - adding in mysql content separately (if performed full reload of backup content, menu problem remained) and reinstalling required modules and customized patches for my websites full functionality. NOW I see what a great asset the Menu System can be!
