I'm running into a serious problem - I want to disable but not get rid of groups with thousands of members, but unfortunately when I do so it is still possible to send email to the group via OGM. Can anyone point me to where I can fix this urgently?
I've tried three things:
- unpublish the group
- archive (using og_archive)
- make read only (using og_access)
None of these prevent users from posting to the group via email. Arrgh!
Thanks for any help!
Tobias

tobias commentedOK - I woke up this morning and had a "duh" moment - I can prevent emails from getting to the groups simply by changing the email address for the group. This is not a great long term solution for archiving/disabling a list though.
Didn't we have a discussion last year about an emergency shutoff for lists? It should be possible really to do this sitewide via the admin menu and on a per-list basis by selecting a tickbox or perhaps not making the email address required and changing the help text to add "leave blank to not use as an email mailing list" or some such.
Cheers,
Tobias
