The 7.x-2.x branch has some really neat new features, most notably the crontab style scheduling.

I could really do with these on a D6 project I'm working on, so I'd like to volunteer to backport these to a new 6.x-2.x branch, which I'm also volunteering to maintain.

I'd happily take care of #1358854: Create a stable release of Job Scheduler for 6.x first :)
