In Facet API versions <= 7.x-1.0-beta8, a standard Current Search block was implemented for each searcher. The block was hard to configure and had the limitation of requiring a technical resource with advanced knowledge of the Drupal theme layer or Facet API adapter system to modify. As a result of the issue #593658: Make the current search block more configurable, a new sub module named "Current Search Blocks" has been added to Facet API which allows for n number of "Current Search" blocks to be created and configured through the admin interface.
Since the improved functionality requires enabling the "Current Search Blocks" module as well as enabling / configuring the new block, a direct upgrade path via the normal Drupal update system was unreliable and deemed too much effort for little reward. Therefore, site builders will have to perform some manual steps to get the "Current Search" block back after upgrading to RC1. A default configuration is provided by Facet API which matches the existing functionality to minimize the effort required to perform the upgrade.
