This problem has been driving me crazy, but now I'm able to reproduce it.

I've got "Private Files" turned on in the "Download Method" under "Site Configuration" > "File System"

When using IE6, if I click the link below and select OPEN, the file does not download properly
Selecting "SAVE AS" and then manually opening the file does work.

Using Firefox either open or save as works properly

I realize this could very well be an IE bug, but I'd like some ideas on how to fix this.

the file you are linked to opens find in IE7, just so you know. I no longer have a machine with IE6 on it to test.

Some test in IE 6 (Win2000 + WinZip)

1) When I click the zip file above and select "open" : it does not work in IE 6 (the zip file opens but it's empty/corrupted)

2) When I click the same zip file but from your website and select "open" : it works in IE 6

Both methods work in Firefox 2, Opera 9 & Netscape 7 (Win2000 + WinZip)

The link on my website is slightly different, I modified it so it is not using a 'private files', instead a direct HTTP download. So that seems to work fine. However, I would still like to get the private files download working consistently.
