Come together with the global Drupal community in Rotterdam, 28 Sept – 1 Oct 2026. Sessions, contribution, connection, and Early Bird savings until 8 June.
Why should it be deleted? Though inflammatory, don't Drupal developers want to reply to serious criticisms? Drupal does have serious problems and nothing damages Drupal's reputation more than when overzealous Drupal developers try to apply Drupal to something when a different solution would be better. It is hubris and stupid to think that any one solution works for all situations, and there really are only certain situations that Drupal is good for. I for one had a coder try to create my site in Drupal and it has cost me thousands of dollars and got me no where when a flat php or ruby on rails solution would have done the trick and much better.
drupal devs accept criticism, what you see in that post is a complete rant from someone throwing a temper tantrum. there are threads critical of drupal on regular occasion. If that person wanted to be taken seriously he'd have kept his emotions under control and not gone on a diatribe.

And that's drupal's fault?
And yes, I read the thread - it's useless...no actual constructive criticism, just some guy who wasn't able to get it to work and thus blames the project. Everyone's fault but yours. He complains about reviews and profiles? Not difficult at all to implement.
I for one have just done a fresh drupal install for the first time since last June and am so impressed by 5.0 it isn't funny. Almost everything I was yearning for has been added and improved. I remember how much work I did coding PHP by hand to create a new node type...now I just use CCK and add fiels and everything is dandy - all from the site itself. I've rarely seen such drastic improvement so quickly and stably, kudos to the devs.
We discourage rants and temper tantrums. Strongly.
In general we do not police language as that tends to be a self correcting problem. People ignore those that don't figure it out and maintain a mostly civil attitude in the forums. It is usually self regulating and if it isn't something will be done.
This user decided to self-destruct in a spectacular fashion which was unfortunate but happens as well.
