There is this cool feature that allows you to move a forum discussion to another category and leave a copy in the forum where it was posted.
The resulting link points to the forum of destination, which is ok. But a link to the discussion itself would be useful to the user that, at the very end, is mainly interested in accessing the discussion. It may happen that since the discussion was moved many new discussions have been created in the destination forum so is not that easy for the user to find the discussion she is looking for.
I think the best solution would be simply point the link to the discussion, instead of the forum.
Another option is to show two links, one for the topic and another one for the destination forum.

michelleAdvanced forum already does this. If people think it's core worthy, I could probably pull it out as a patch.

sun.core commentedAnd shadow copies are already supported by core's forum.module, to some extent.

michelleWell, they are, but it points to the forum, not the moved post. That was the whole point of this issue. :)
I'm fine with the won't fix, though... Just one more feature for AF. ;)

liam mcdermott commentedThis is a worthwhile feature request. The fact that forum.module supports shadow copies to an extent is acknowledged by the original poster, however this feature is deficient compared to other forum software.
The feature request is therefore to make forum.module function the way most people expect. You might not want to fix this, but I do.
