I'm sure this module has some really cool features that will someday become necessary for me, but for right now after trying to get this simple module to work for 2 hours, it's just not worth it.

So my solution is I created a Content Type called "Creative Commons License", I added CCKs for image and link and then I used node reference to add these license to my other content types...done.

Title: Nice Idea, but really.... » Alpha1 isn't perfect and I want someone else to do more for free!

  1. The module was clearly labeled an unsupported alpha... I'm sorry the code I give away does not live up to your high standards while it is still being developed, The reason for publishing an alpha is so other developers can see where things are headed and contribute. If you are looking for code that works well, DO NOT use releases labeled alpha and beta!
  2. This module is NOT simple... it integrates with Views, Search, and supports jurisdictions and license updates through the Creative Commons API
  3. The approach you've taken only adds a license that human's can see. While that is important, one might ague that it's more important to implement licensing in a way that Google and other search engines understand so it will show up in searches http://search.creativecommons.org/

While I'm glad you've found a solution that works for you, please think about the effort that goes into developing a module before posting an issue like that. I've updated the title so you can see how a developer might interpret a snarky statement like "Nice Idea, but really...." in an issue queue.
