A simple idea, i guess there will always be a node or two that a links are not wanted on say frontpage. Would it be possible to permit the user to define a list of nodes that should be ignored

I agree with this. I'd prefer to not have links appear on the page they're linking to. For instance, an alink for the word "zit" pointing to www.myurl.com/zit should not appear on the page www.myurl.com/zit. It would be great if there was a way to exclude a node on the alinks edit screen.
