I do not really get the purpose of the hardcoded log textarea on usernode's edit forms.
Isn't there a way the 'regular' log fields (when revision is enabled) could be used instead (and then also disabled) ?

I might very well be missing something, though :-)

ah, I was not aware of that. I had a custom log form item in the code.
I've removed it now, so it should behave like usual. -> Committed to 5.x and HEAD.
