interogation in other modules?

It's just a little question;
I use the uieforum module, but this module doesn't work with the node, so it don't show the smileys form the smiley module when I typ for example ":-)", I know it isn't a really support question, but is it possible to interogate the smileys module into the uieforum module with a smal part of code ore something like that?

(And I also know that the uieforum module has it own smiley part, but I like to use the same smileys on my whole site, AND, I find this module super/great (I don't know the word to use in English) so please go one with it, it's a verry good module!)
