I just direct flagged something and it got put into "Removed". When I clicked on the Removed tab, I then chose "allow" and it disappeared from the Removed list, but I can't find that node anyway. It's just disappeared. Is that normal?

That doesn't sound like normal behaviour...when an item is 'direct flagged' it should first go to the 'hidden' section. Also if you remove it and then allow it, the status of the content is set back to 1. Could you let me know any other settings you have for the abuse module?
