I can't find a way to translate the default email text.

No results searching it in /admin/config/regional/translate/translate

(all others module labels are correctly translatable through default D7 translation)

How to proceed?

I think you can achieve this with http://drupal.org/project/mail_edit

I've tried to install mail edit, but your module comment_notify is not present in the module option list: see screenshot.

What's wrong?

I finally was able to get the email text in the default D7 label translation (/admin/config/regional/translate/translate ).

All you have to do is to must ensure that the system sends at least an e-mail in the language you want to translate.

Unfortunately I have to confirm that COMMENT_NOTIFY does not work with MAIL_EDIT.
