Info popup window opens page.tpl

I am using Location Module 6.x-3.x-dev (2011-Dec-21) and Gmap Module 6.x-1.x-dev (2011-Mar-31) and when I click on the markers on my map/node page there is a long pause and then the popup window displays the full page layout. Basically everything associated with my page.tpl.php file. Looking at the code it's even recalling all the scripts and css files that are found in the page head.

I expected this popup feature to only display the title and content information of the node it is linked to. The page info shows instead the title and header for the map/node page without the map and with the line stating "Javascript is required to view this map.".

Using 'Open in a new page' works fine. I've tried applying every combination of marker settings under admin/settings/gmap and admin/settings/gmap_location. I am starting this feed as a bug report since I don't think this feature should be behaving this way.
