The title pretty much says it all.

After installing the profile, the example products are lacking multiple fields and the categories menu is missing.

I have a separate issue regarding the missing login menu item and a complete install failure using a Windows apache server (it times out the browser, installing using a FreeBSD apache server, using the same hardware, completes without a timeout).

Yes, this is a known issue, that's why #1273474: Add sample products is marked as needs work. The problem is that we are using feeds for importing products, and the product field on product displays are not being correctly filled with product SKU for some reason.

Clicking the "Remove sample content" then "Enable sample content" in the Dashboard should fix the products.
