1.Created a new site page for testing
2.Run the Cron
3.Flush all caches
4.Checked the link http://*********/sitemap.xml (displays 4754 links not 4755 )
5.If rebuild the sitemap then displays (4755 links)
Another test:
1.Deleted the node (1 from above)
2.Run the cron
3.without rebuilding checked the http://**********/sitemap.xml (displays 4754 links)
Question : How often do we need to rebuild the sitemap ? Is there a way that this could be fixed automatically without rebuilding the sitemap manually for every cron run.
Please see attached configurations.
Quick response is appreciated.
Thanks
Revathi

dynamicdan commentedThis also happened to me on a fresh run...
I got 1 node from each node type indexed on first run and cron did not update this. I had to do 'rebuild sitemap' to get all my links showing.

intyms commentedI have updated a page, cleared cache (perfomance tab) and then run Cron.
The date in the xml file is still the old one.
There is no error in the log file (admin/reports/dblog).
Let me know if you need any other information.
Update:
The xml has not been updated because the Minimum sitemap lifetime was set to 1 day.
So, it works as designed. Thank you and sorry for bothering :(

freelylw commentedsame problem here, I have set the sitemap lifetime to "no minimum". but the issue still there, the links in the sitemap never updated even after the the cron run.
Only I rebuild the sitemap OR I go back to the node and click "edit" and then "save" again, and run the cron again, the sitemap will be updated, the new link will be added into the sitemap.
I noticed this happened in 3 of my D7 sites, I believe this is a bug happened in lots sites but just no one noticed.
Looking for solutions, thanks

scott.whittaker commentedI noticed this issue too with 7.x-2.2. We have an existing sitemap, but deleted content stays in the sitemap after running cron and clearing caches. The deleted content was not removed from the sitemap until the Update cache files option was manually invoked from the UI.
