Right now, Mail Comment 6.x-2.x must be used with Notifications / Messaging 6.x-4.x. However, it might be worth adding backwards compatibility, so that people can use the Mailflow 2.x stack and a stable version of messaging simultaneously (since Mailhandler 1.x is about to be deprecated: #1391942: Release 2.4, deprecate 1.x)
