Time format in calendar view

I'm using Calendar and Views to make a...calendar. It needs to be printer-friendly. I can handle most of the job with a print style sheet, but I'm hanging up at the start time format. I need it to look like this:

HH:MM AM Event/Node Title

within each day/table cell.

I'm shooting for this.

I keep getting either "Start: " or 24-hr time, both of which I don't want. And they're both under the node title.

I noticed there's a custom format option for start time, but I haven't found any information for us mere mortals to use it.

Am I just hosed, or do I need to wait for CCK and eventrepeat to have a baby?
