Hi Miiimooo,
I can't seem to be able to subscribe to a Simplenews newsletter when I set the Ubercart payment gateway to PayPal Website Payments Standard. I'm selecting a newsletter to subscribe to in the checkout pane, submitting the transaction – which goes through – but on returning to the user profile page I'm not subscribed. I'm also not receiving the opt in emails when I try as an anonymous user.

However, when I use the Ubercart credit card test gateway it all works perfectly. I get subscribed if I'm a logged in user and I get the opt in emails as an anonymous user.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks for that. I don't think there is anything I can do about this as the Submit order button goes straight to Paypal. Though there must be somewhere it stores data about the order or how does it work with WPS? Does all the data come back from Paypal after payment only or is there already someting in the orders list on reviewing the order?

OK, thanks Miiimooo. I'm not sure myself, but I'll follow your thread and see if I can find out how Ubercart treats the order data with PayPal WPS selected.

I can confirm this. The subscribe line appears at checkout, and the users can select it. All looks great, but the user is not subscribed to the newsletter. I would love to have a solution...
