Hi,

I was looking for a multifile upload module for Drupal 7 and found this one. It looks good, but it seems abandoned...

At one point there was talk about this becoming a submodule of plupload, but nothing seems to be happening there either...

Is there any future for mupload+plupload?

Luiz

Hi Luiz,
There may be a future for mupload! I was tasked with finding and assessing multiple upload solutions for Drupal 7 for use in my office and I believe mupload best meets our needs. My report is under consideration and if approved I will be able to continue development for mupload, in which case I would probably begin the process of reporting mupload as abandoned and requesting maintainer status.

At this preliminary stage, are there any objections to such a request? Is anyone else planning on requesting maintainer status or interested in assisting with development?

For anyone attempting to use the current version of this module, although the last commits for mupload were in June of 2011, community members have remained active and posted bugfix patches in the issues queue as recently as December 2011. If you are savvy enough to apply the patches you will find that some of the bugs have already been fixed.

Thanks!

Hi,

It would be great if you could become the maintainer for mupload! I saw in the plupload module that they are also looking for a new maintainer...

I am also evaluating multi file upload modules for Drupal 7 and I think mupload+plupload is very promising, except that both of these are not actively maintained.

Btw, would you be able to share your report (or at least the main points)? I am doing lots of tests regarding compatibility (drupal modules and internet browsers) and will share my findings once I am done.

I did apply the patches from the issues list. I can also fix bugs that I encounter, so I could help you a little if you do become the maintainer...

Regards,

Luiz

I would love to support you guys with this module.

I use the combination of mupload en plupload already on to live sites...

I too have mupload and plupload integrated with many live sites. Currently working on 4 more projects, all of which would greatly benefit from these modules. You have my full support.

In the interim I might try this plup as it fits exactly what I'm doing with these 2 modules that seem abandoned.

Guys please take a look this issue about the further development of plupload and the modules depending on it:

Hi all,
I posted at the top of this thread about possibly assuming development responsibility for mupload. However, I am on a different project at the moment so I will not be able to contribute the mupload in the immediate future. Depending on project schedules, deadlines, etc. I may be able to continue work on mupload when I return to the project requiring that functionality. Keep up the great work everyone!

The Plup module is coming along quite well. Using it now on my sites. Only supports images at the moment but that is all I really needed. Anyone with the same needs as myself should check it out.
