It'd also be great to be able to view the postcard text right in the e-mail body vs. requiring a trip to the website... that way users could at least read what the postcard was about even if off-line or on a mobile connection.

Ah, you know what? This is already possible - the %card_text variable is available to use - but it isn't listed in the help text. So on the postcard administration screen where you set up the default email you can simply include %card_text in there and it will be sent as well. This is just a documentation fix then.

I've added this in 5 to the help text (along with another var, %postcards, which gives a link to the site's postcard gallery page). I'll work on 4.7 later today.
