First of all, THX for the Module... For me (and I tried a lot of mudules since D5) this Module is one of the best!
But I have an feature request...
Is it possible to get an option so the user only can crop a square or something in percentages of hight and width like it has to be 4:3 picture, 16:9 or 1:1 in the end...
this would be perfect!
thx!

matthijsHi Grienauer,
If you set a "Crop and scale manually" effect and define a width and height of 100px, the user can only crop squares. So for a ratio of 4:3 and 16:9 you just have to do some mathematics :-)
I hope this solved your request, if not (and I misunderstood your question) just reopen this issue!
Good luck!

grienauerthx for the fast response!
yeah its true, that the min size of e.g. height 100px and width 100px will in the end result as a Square image but the cropping handles are not locked so the user can draw a rectangle with the aspect ratio of 16:9 and the final picture will be a 100x100 picture but deformed...
it would be great to have a solution in the image style setting for the module to lock the cropping handles to the final output aspect ratio...
now, is it clear what I mean?
should I send some screenshots?
thx much!

matthijsIf you use the "crop and scale manually" effect the handles/proportions should be locked (just checked in the dev version and here they are).
Their was a bug with the proportions with this in an older version, so are you using the latest stable version?

grienauerI have the latest dev version...
here some screens to explain it better...

matthijsI see that you're using the crop effect without scaling? In that case the handles are indeed not locked to maintain the proportions.
Now that I think about it, I understand your case better. You want to create a square of any size, but it must be a square and should not be resized to the dimensions set in the settings (like in the crop and scale effect). I shall add an option to lock the proportions, okay for you?
Sorry it took me so long to correctly understand your issue :-)

grienauerYES! this is exactly what I meant!
I think its very useful to lock the proportions and this will enhance the module a lot.
It would be a really nice feature.

grienauerthx! works on new created image styles!
but on active styles where a picture is already cropped the maintain proportions is not working (Handlers are not fixed)
but if you delete the manuel crop imagestyle option and create it again it works.
just for info if somebody is using it and don't know why its not working.
for new imagestyles it works fine! thx!
