How to increase number of 'multiple' fields?

A default installation of CCK will give allow 3 items to be submitted for a field which will accept multiple values.

Upon editing the node, it will allocate 2 extra blank fields, regareless of current number of entries, eg if 4 items filled in, 2 blanks will be appended to the end of the list of 4.

I need to increase the default of 2 extra to another number, 5 extra in my case. I can't find where this is set in the code. I'l be happy be just change the number to 5 in the code.
