Duplicate Image Modules

Hello, this is similar to http://drupal.org/node/135452 but I cannot fix my problem

I upgraded from 4.6.3 to 4.6.11, then upgraded to 5.1
Before upgrading to 5.1, I disabled the image module.
After upgrading to 5.1, I installed the image module thinking this would upgrade the original image module (placed the image folder inside of the modules folder, then enabled it in drupal)

The Random Image block works and displays my images. The taxonomy is working for the images too (has the same structure as when I had the image gallery working). I can click on the link like "Photos" or "Drawings" and then it will display all images in that section. But I guess this isn't the gallery; it's just the taxonomy?

Problem is that when I navigate to ?q=image, there are no galleries displayed.

To further elaborate, when trying to submit an image content, there are two different fields for choosing the gallery to put it in. One field has no galleries to choose from and the other field has the correct, original galleries to choose from. There are also two categories for image galleries when inside content management. I have come to the conclusion that two instances of the image module might be installed.

I would really appreciate any help!
