Users cannot select category to post

I just updated to the latest version of drupal 6 from version 6.15. I also uploaded all modules but now users cannot post to a particular category. You can see from the example in the attached image that users can select the calendar they should have access to but not the section. I have a couple roles that are setup to post to only a particular section but I do not want to give them access to all categories of the site. Please help!
