lionheart8 commentedIs there any way out of this?
It's a real problem having the empty player showing up on pages with no video but only images. As said above, I set it NOT to show images & there is no where I see in the field or player settings where images are assocated with the player. I also set it under presentation settings not to show an empty player.
On pages with no images or video, it does not show up.
I would appreciate any help.
Regards

pixelsweatshop commentedI am having the same issue. It appears to be only on nodes that existed before going back and changing imagefield settings to none. Any new nodes created respect the settings and do not display the empty media player when the media and thumbnail fields are empty. (clearing cache does not work). So, my assumtion that there is something that keeps it from back propagating to existing nodes? (lionheart8 can you confirm that any new nodes you create work as expected and it is only existing nodes that are not affected?)
lionheart8 commentedActually I am creating a site from scratch with D7 after trying to upgrade an existing d6 based site run into too many problems by copy & pasting content from freshly made content types & their respective fields. So in my case, it's with fresh fields/content/nodes for different content types. ...

travist commentedWhen you said you set the setting that says "Show Player when Empty", does that mean that you have that settings checked or unchecked? Because if it is checked (set), then it will always show regardless if it finds media or not, whereas if it is unchecked, it should hide. Let me know.
Thanks,
Travis.
lionheart8 commentedHi
I have the box unchecked.
The attached image shows the settings I have for the different content types. In all of them, I don't the OSM player to show images & have not selected it to do so.
So as said, it somehow however appears wherever there is any image.
In another earlier post, it was showing the images, until I was advised to uncheck that box. After that it appears, but empty.
Where there's no image, it does not appear.
I could PM u the site login if it could help to identify the cause.
Thank you in advance

ericjan commentedHi,
I'm experiencing the exact same problem when I installed MediaFront in an existing site to play Youtube video's. The player shows up for articles with images and no video's. Tried all of the suggestions in http://drupal.org/node/1250294:
- "none" for both Mediafront settings in the Image fields in my article content type
- In the Preset have UNCHECKED "Show player when empty"
- Cleared the cache a few times
But in the thousands of articles with images a empty player is still shown. I'am not a coder but I can test if a patch is provided.
Thanks,
Eric Jan

pixelsweatshop commentedIt appears my comment in #2 is wrong. Player is showing on old as well as new nodes, even while doing everything that is suggested to do (Set "none" for both Mediafront settings in the Image fields, Have unchecked "Show player when empty" and Cleared the cache a few times)

pixelsweatshop commentedI can replicate this on a clean install.
1) Standard install Drupal 7.12
2) Enable latest dev of Mediafront and OSM
3) Create a preset. Keep all defaults except disable 'show player when empty'
4) Add a video field field and media player field to article content type (there is already an image field included with the standard install).
5) Set image field to "Media Preview Image: none" and "Media Thumbnail Image: none"
5) Set Media Player to display using your preset (as there is only one, it should already default to it, but check)
6) Add an article with an image
Media player still displays.
Any thought travist?

travist commentedI am pretty sure I tracked down the issue here. Sorry for the delay on this.
I just committed a fix to both 7.x and 6.x branches a fix for this. Please test the latest version and let me know if that fixes this problem. I am trying to get a new stable release out the door within the next couple of days and would love to nip this one in the bud.
Thanks!
Travis.

lionheart8 commentedHi Travist
It seems the new version 1.5 seems to solve this issue, but it'd be good if someone else could confirm.
After updating, a preliminary look at the articles with ONLY images, where the player has been unexpectedly appearing shows no player, but it might be it's because I'm just tired after a long day. ;)
If not, that's very great news & thank you for all you have invested!
Now time to have a look at the "minplayer"!
