Hi all,

We're currently running a Drupal 6 multi-site install using the Domain Access module. Four sites are shared in this install. This has caused us a lot of headaches and we want to separate the sites into discrete Drupal instances.
How do you estimate the effort (hrs,$) to set up 4 sites from scratch, installing all necessary modules etc. (obviously without the DA module) and configuring everything?
I would assume that the themes, views, content etc. can be used from the old sites, but I'm not sure about the re-usability of the configuration (sans DA)...

I understand that an exact estimate is impossible without more details, but I'm looking for a ballpark estimate of a best case and worst case scenario.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Rolf

UPDATE: Thanks to all who have responded to this request. A solution is already in the works.

Headaches?

Can you clarify what headaches you have with the Domain Access module? Perhaps it would be easier to correct those--maybe you're not using the module correctly.

DA headaches

We've always experienced "collateral damage" whenever we introduced new sites to the mix. For instance meta tags or even menu items would show up on the other sites. The backend is somewhat confusing as you can see the content (types) for the other sites in each site.
It just seems that the sites are so tangled/intertwined that we'd rather have separate instances of them.
