Medical Subject Headings

I am looking for other Drupal users who using Drupal in the medical / public health field and are interested to create a (taxonomy) modul for "Medical Subject Headings". I am not sure if this could be done with the taxonomy module since the "Medical Subject Headings" vocabulary is quite "big". Another aspect is the fact that the vocabulary is updated every year. Some things are added, some are thrown away. I have not seen a Drupal Module deal with that problem.

medical taxonomy

I'm working on two drupal sites right now - one for teenage health, and one for patient experiences of a range of illnesses. Both of these rely quite heavily on various taxonomy modules to ensure that the content can be categorised and accessed effectively.
I'm not quite sure how a collaborative effort for medical taxonomy would work though? Some of my taxonomy is flat - i.e. this is simply a word-list of medical conditions. Sometimes they are hierarchical - i.e. within 'cancer', I might have 'bowel cancer', 'testicular cancer' etc.
I'd be interested to know what you're doing, and if there is any opportunity for collaboration though.
