I get this strange error, although I have
Views 7.x-3.0
Views Slideshow 7.x-3.0
Views Slideshow: Galleria 7.x-3.0-alpha2
installed and enabled and the Galleria script (1.2.6.) is sitting in my sites/all/libraries directory (so I have sites/all/libraries/galleria/galleria.js and so on).

Somewhere I read that it could be a galleria-version issue and I downloaded galleria-1.2.zip and used it instead of 1.2.6. Then the error did not appear and I was able to choose "galleria" in the views slideshow settings but there was no result at all.

I had the same issue with alpha2. I used recent 1.2.6 script and renamed js files galleria-1.2.6.min.js to galleria.min.js and galleria-1.2.6.js to galleria.js and module seems to be working now.

Thanks for the feedback! I have the issue with both alpha2 or the latest development version of the module and galleria 1.2.6. I renamed the files according the instructions but the error did not go away. are you saying you use the latest dev + 1.2.6. in you're setup and its working?

pepej’s picture

Yes, my setup is working now. I rechecked my environment and I found I am using Views Slideshow version = "7.x-3.x-dev" , Views Slideshow: Galleria version = "7.x-3.0-alpha2" and Galleria plugin 1.2.6 located in folder sites/all/libraries/galleria/ . I would recommend to check file permissions also.

Hi again,

sadly I'm back again with my issue...

I'm using now

views_slideshow-7.x-3.x-dev
views_slideshow_galleria-7.x-3.0-alpha2
views-7.x-3.0
drupal-7.10

and my galleria plugin can be found at sites/all/libraries/galleria (there I have renamed "galleria-1.2.6.js" to "galleria.js" and "galleria-1.2.6.min.js" to "galleria.min.js")

But I still get the bloody "You need to install the Galleria plugin. You can find the plugin at http://galleria.io." when I try to configure views... :( I also tried upgrading views and views_slideshow_galleria to their latest dev versions, but had no luck...

If you can give me some more hints of what I am doing wrong I would be very thankful (again)!

Meanwhile now I'll give http://drupal.org/project/galleria a try and give some feedback of that.

Alright... Back again...

I did give your sentence "...I would recommend to check file permissions also..." a second thought... and ran my setup on my WinXP development environment. And it did make a difference! I had to install the latest dev of views_slideshow_galleria (not views_slideshow) though (because of http://drupal.org/node/1399722) so my working now setup is:

views_slideshow-7.x-3.0
views_slideshow_galleria-7.x-3.x-dev
views-7.x-3.0
drupal-7.10

So it was definitely a permissions problem, as ubuntu (my original dev-environment) requires much more precise set permissions. This has probably to do with the galleria folder in sites/all/libraries? I'm asking, because the site would go live on a linux web server anyway, so that issue could come up very easily again... :(

Thanks again for any hints.

Here is related article about permissions: http://drupal.org/node/244924

This seems to be fixed.

On Debian-based operating systems, a "missing" Galleria plugin is most probably a permission issue: the webserver user/group needs to own the 'galleria' folder (chown -R www-data:www-data galleria). This is a bit weird since other libraries - like 'jquery.ui' or 'jquery.cycle' do not need this.

I'm still having problems with this one. I'm not a technical user, so I may need some hand holding. I tried installing 7.x-3.x-dev and 7.x-1.0-beta2 both of which still lead to the "The Galleria JavaScript file was not found in its path. Please refer to README.txt for installation instructions" issue.

I ran the Acquia Security Review module and I'm still trying to grasp this conversation: http://drupal.org/node/244924

My question: is there a simple dumbed down version to change the permissions to get this working?

Morten Najbjerg’s picture

I don't think the problem has anything to do with views_slideshow_galleria, - but the permissions of files and folders in the galleria zip file.
I had the same problem as mentioned above. I CHMOD'ed the folder and its content to 755 and everything was working like a charm.

I had the problem with galleria plugin, I rename the files and works! Thanks so much.

When galleria-1.2.6.zip is unpacked on a Linux box, the permissions are all wrong and they will need to be set to 755 for folders and 644 for files.
When it is unpacked on a Windows machine this does not show up as all files and folders are set to 755 when the (unpacked) galleria folder is uploaded using FTP.
It does not do any harm for files to be set to 755 but the correct permissions for files in a drupal environment on a linux box is 644. Ownership should be set to the user running the site, not www-data or whatever your webserver is running as.

Hi guys,

I had install the galleria. I try to display the galleria to each blog post. And I add a field image galler which able to upload a multiple images for each post for galleria. Now my problem is when the galleria display, it featches all images in the blog post. All I want is that the galleria will display only images uploaded of each post.

Any ideas gus?

Just download the Plugin and place it in to your root/Site/all/libraries/ folder
