Hey
Would be great, when dropbox files could be attached to nodes or filefields.
You can hook in the File Field Sources module.

I like the idea, but in what path we must store in Dropbox to get a consistency solution, if you can write a full proposal I can consider to include in next version.
Or even better if you can write a patch to include this feature, all community will be happy to receive.
Just drop me a post with the contribution.

bennos commentedHere is what I have in mind. Le
Dropbox could be a central file storage for all data of filefields.
Example:
Some of the drupal agencies uses openatrium as central communicaton plattform. All users need to upload manual any new data like screenshots, mokups, word documents.
Dropbox can make the workflow better, because a file can be saved local, uploads automatically to dropbox and from dropbox it gets updated in openatrium. Also the update flow back, if an other user updates the file manually.
Any user and in any location we have now the up to date files.
Files are more up to date then the manual upload
I think there are 2 different solution possible.
1. Attach a Subfolder to an entity / node - All files of the dropbox subfolder gets attached.
2. Single file from dropbox gets attached to an entity or node.
Both solutions needs an interface so select the folder or the file.
will have a look at your actually solution.

Just FYI this module have a operation mode to set a dropbox account to whole website, in order to enable to have a community repository.
Maybe this operation mode solve your needs, just go to setting and enable this module.
Attach and folter per node is possible, but I guess is better use a CDN service, but if you are still interested, let me now if you can code and share us a patch.
