Make nodeauthor info viewable on profile page

Hello!

I am interested in making information entered into the nodeauthor field of a user's account settings page viewable on his/her profile.

My first impression, which may or may not be correct, is to create a profile field which somehow links to the data entered in the nodeauthor field. Does anyone have an idea of how to accomplish this this way or some better way?
