I have just installed Mollom on a site under development, using version Drupal 7.10 and Webform 7.x-3.5 for a contact form, following the documented instructions.

I turned on the "Activate Mollom plugin developer mode" on mollom.com so I can test. And waited 1.5 hrs before testing.

I've tried setting configuration to both "Text analysis" and "CAPTCHA", but when I type in the CAPTCHA correctly I can't past the error message, "The word verification was not completed correctly. Please complete this new word verification and try again."

I've also found an error message when I go back to the configuration page: "The Mollom servers could not be contacted. Please make sure that your web server can make outgoing HTTP requests."I contact my server support and the server allows HTTP requests.

I don't recall having any issues on an earlier Drupal 6 install using the same type of server.

Is there documentation on how to troubleshoot this? Are there other settings I should check?

If you're installing a new site, I'd highly recommend to go with 2.x instead. We're about to publish stable releases very soon.

Also, you can disable the testing/developer mode on mollom.com for your site, and instead enable the testing mode in the module settings in your site. The local setting takes effect immediately.

Lastly, in general, for communication/configuration related issues, I'd need the corresponding log message entries from your Drupal logs (which you can filter by category "mollom").

I just noticed I have the same problem and wonder how many communications I have missed because of it. All image submissions come back with errors. Have had to switch to text analysis instead of CAPTCHA for now. Not sure whether to go ahead with the dev version instead.
