hello,

i would like to know what are the required modules to create a website similar to http://everyblock.com ?
everyblock is a micro journalism social network, people reports news by the block level.

do you have any idea how to collect rss feeds from social networks/news sites and automatically make it avaiable in the map ?

please give me some guide points to start something similar.

any other modules guys ?

i did some search in the community but still i could not find the right modules.. or maybe i am looking in the wrong places..

everyblock in simple description all it does is the following:

a member signs up based on the area or can draw his/her (own block over openlayers map) (any drupal module allows drawing on map?)

after that member start adding news from assigned block as default or other places based on new location.
other members who are from the same area will get notification about posted news.

please guide me on the modules needed and if there is anything that needs customization.

Are you serious about creating this? Now there is a big hole to fill since everyblock.com shut down yesterday.

I run a neighborhood group that relied on Every Block. I think NBC is missing out on a money maker and we are baffled as to why they abruptly closed.
