When loading a static KML file for the first time, Google Earth zooms to it. If loading the Network Link equivalent, however, it stays in your default view.

I wonder if it's possible to zoom to the extent of the content when the network link is first loaded, but not subsequently (don't want it always resetting itself on refresh)?

For the time being, behavior within Google Earth is out of scope for the KML module.
