OG into categories with Taxonomy

Hi everyone,

I would like to organize my OG into categories like on Myspace http://groups.myspace.com The OG guys said it could be done with Taxonomy. I tried searching but could not find anything on this.. Can someone please give me the steps I need to get this working.
