From what I can tell, the Show Author Info and Teaser fields of a blog have no effect; they are not shown on the listing page, full node page, or search listing pages. The summary portion of the body is not displayed anywhere either.

These fields currently exist so that site builders can use these fields in views as they are building their site. That said, we are planning to remove those fields since we have gotten additional feedback stating that most site builders are not using them.

I have changed this to a support request since it is not currently breaking any functionality.
