For a recent project I needed a two row layout. It simply looks like (two) nodes listed on the page, but it allows to assign any content to appear in the rows (not just nodes). Why? For the frontpage I required two different views (from views.module) combined on the page. The upper part should be a simple node listing containing the most recent nodes (published and promoted to the frontpage) and the lower part should be a poll (incl. form + result). However now I'm also using the two row layout on my personal page to display a static 'welcome' page above a views-rendered list of recent blog nodes.

Attached is a renamed zip-achive containing the layout files (inc, css, png).

ok and how is two row layout different from a one panel layout that contains two things?

There is no 'one panel layout' in the module afaik ... or am I missing something? There are only layouts to split the page vertically.

There is a one panel layout that's been submitted as a patch, and I've promised to accept but I haven't gotten to it in my queue (I have a HUGE list of things to do, sadly) -- but it'll make it in.

I agree that a 2 row layout wouldn't be terribly interesting once the one panel layout exists.

I completely missed the 'one panel layout' issue in the queue. Sorry! And I agree that it serves a better purpose because it is more flexible and you can have more than two rows. Marking this issue 'duplicate'.
