Even though I set up a "forum moderator" role, I cannot figure out how to allow this role to edit the unpublished forum topic, unless the role is granted with the "admin node" privilege, which is not desired.
There is no problem for flexinode, since there is a privilege called "edit any node" to use. But for forum, there is no such option.
I tried taxonomy access control (to build a taxonomy for the forum), but still cannot work.
Any idea for this? Thanks in advance.

Is this a bug or what?
In addition, Forum moderator cannot even view the unpublished forum post (got "access denied"), unless he got the "administer node" privilege, which he should not have.
Any idea about this? Thanks.

I agree that this is an issue. I believe if a user can edit a node while it is published, they should also have the capability to edit the node while it is unpublished. Or at the very least, there should be an extra access control option.

In my example, I have multiple publishers all assisting in managing the same content. I don't want control over unpublished content to be solely limited to the node's author.

The administer nodes permission is much too powerful as it gives blanket access to all nodes across all node types. I'd like to have the ability for some users to manage some content types, while other users could manage different content types.
