Start Slideshow Paused

Hi,

I am aware that 6.2.x is no longer being developed, however I was wondering if there is anyway to start the slideshow paused like you can do in 7.x ?

I see there is an advanced options box where you can input entries from the jquery cycle plugin, however I have tried different variations without any luck. http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/options.html

$('#slideshow').cycle('pause');

Not sure if im going in the right direction, any help please?
