One of my fears as a CiviCRM booster is that we will end up spawning a SFDC petition module, a CiviCRM petition module, etc. Worse yet, a logintoboggin for every CRM integration.
Trellon has some code (that they have not released yet) to solve this.
How possible is it to merge your efforts and you guys take over the SFDC side of things?
Can't find the announcement right now, but Trellons code for a "CRM broker" will show up here:

victorkane commentedI am all in favor of a single CRM gateway layer in Drupal, and of this module being part of such a larger effort.
Right now I am trying to finish the testing to bring out the legacy 4.7.x and 5.x versions, so that people can use the module with confidence, including all the existing functionality.
Next step (while maintaining this legacy version of the module) will be to reverse engineer the use cases and see what kind of use cases actually exist in the community, and from there, what architecture would be the best for Drupal in the long term, and go from there (obviously with a branch of this module, or...).
Since there seem to be several CRM efforts underway, perhaps you could point me to the group(s) where this is being discussed. I would be more than willing to coordinate.
To sum up, I would be more than willing to merge efforts, with us taking the SFDC side in the context of a larger effort. How possible it is will depend on all of us and how much interaction we can bring to bear.

victorkane commentedI have modified my roadmap to include this discussion, so that integration with other CRM integration modules is now an announced objective. First I need to develop something to integrate it with, however. Trellon, call home.
